Poke niyo, poke niyo mabaho!

Uso na yata (link) sa iilang babaeng OFW ang panalitang halos ganoon: The west use tissue to wipe their “pekpek”. The Filipina used tabo. There now you know why the Filipina “pekpek” smells so good. We do it the Asian way”. I was right after all and people thought I was flippant: never argue with people who don’t shower at least twice a day. It clears the mind.

Pilipinas ngayon, ganyan. Gusto ko na bang umebak o umihi?

..Addressing workers who came home from Kuwait, Duterte digressed a bit from discussing their plight and expressed his preferred contraceptive.

“May pills libre. Huwag ‘yang condom kasi hindi masarap ‘yang condom [Pills are free. Don’t use condoms because they don’t feel good],” Duterte said to laughter from the audience.

He even mimed eating a piece of candy with a wrapper.

“Kainin mo ‘to. Huwag mong balatan… Iyan ang condom [Eat this. Don’t unwrap it… It’s like a condom],” he quipped.

While contraceptives for women may help address the spike in population, it does not address the rising numbers of human immunovirus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) cases. The Department of Health reported over 11,000 HIV cases in 2017 alone, and over 42,000 cases between 2012 and 2017..

Detained Senator Leila de Lima called President Rodrigo Duterte a “damaged” man who needs to seek professional help after he ordered government troops to shoot women rebels in the vagina.

“This President is a threat against us, the Filipino people. He is no protector. He is no leader. He is no ‘strong’ man. He is a damaged man. I even pity him, because the damaged person he has become could not have come from healthy experiences. The man needs to seek professional help,” she said in a statement written from her detention cell inside the Philippine National Police Custodial Center.

“Kung ang isda ay nahuhuli sa bibig, it should be too easy now to catch what this man is all about. He is a sex-obsessed sociopath who thinks women are only useful if they can give birth and raise children, and [that] it is manly to promote sexual violence,” she also said.

De Lima also said that Duterte’s words, particularly now that he has terminated peace talks with the Communist Party of the Philippines, is a “threat”—not against the rebels, but against soldiers and the Filipino people.

“It is a threat against soldiers because they are being ‘led’ by a person who is unworthy of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with them, much less as their commander-in-chief. Why? Because this is a man that would take the honor, dignity, integrity, patriotism and professionalism of a Filipino soldier, and manipulate it to satisfy his own brutality and bloodlust,” she wrote in one of her most impassioned dispatches to date..

It was nine years ago, in the aftermath of the Maguindanao massacre, that I’d heard one of the most horrendous tortures some of the 58 dead were subjected to. I had been talking to Maguindanao Gov. Esmael “Toto” Magudadatu about what had been done to his wife, one of the fatalities in that most violent act of election violence in Philippine history.

“They hacked her on the back and shoved a bolo up her private parts,” Magudadatu told me in Tagalog, which was so much more expressive of his anguish over the fate of his wife than my translation here is. “She was pregnant. She was alive when they did this to her.”

So, is Rodrigo Duterte related to the sick fucks of the Ampatuan family who stand accused of having ordered the torture, killing and disposal into a mass grave of 58 people? Perhaps, if his “joke” about shooting female NPA fighters in the vagina is any indication.

THIS is the president of the Republic of the Philippines, people. THIS is what he wants us to see as his public image–otherwise he wouldn’t speak the way he does.

Oh, YES I condemn this sort of speech and the violence it encourages..

Mocha is like Tetchie Agbayana. Tetchie Agbayana? Who was she? Tetchie if the first Filipino woman that graced the cover of Playboy. She was the centerfold. She showed her tangled centerfolds and tangled web of bubonic hair. At that time Filpino women neither shave nor trim their down there. Fast forward to Mocha and Maui Taylor. They are shaved. It is puffy and fatty.

I wonder what they look like today. I bet they cannot top off the beauty of Leni. Leni got million dollar skinny thin legs. I like her innocent grown-up looks. I like hers and Mr. Robredo’s start-up story all the way to their run-of-the-mill wedding photos.

Too bad, Duterte do not allow Leni to show her administrative mettle. Duterte should tap her to be in his cabinet.

The idiom “beyond the pale” has been running through my mind. The pale is a fence and within it, there is safety and civilization. Outside the fence lies unacceptable behavior. Duterte (and Trump) have torn down the fence, and the inside has become a place of uninhibitedness, incivility, and worst barbarism.

There are pockets of civilization — countries like New Zealand, Canada, and the Nordic ones — and I hope these places of refuge remain the same. But for our country, putting up the fence and rebuilding it will take generations.

In the life of a man or woman, innocence once lost can never be regained. But perhaps in the change of generations, it can be.

Gary L: Bless me Father for I have sinned. I had impure thoughts 5 times.
Father Cronin, SJ (confessor, ex-US Marine, 6’4″): Did you entertain them, son?
Gary L: No, Father. They entertained me.
Fr Cronin (lumabas ng confessional, kunwari galit): Get out, Gary! Get out!
